What do NP1 to NP5 cover on the PNLE?
The PNLE has five Nursing Practice subjects. Their official scope is set by the PRC Board of Nursing's Enhanced Tables of Specifications (Resolution No. 10, s. 2025).
- NP1 (Nursing Practice I): Community health nursing: care of individuals, families, population groups, and the community using the nursing process.
- NP2 (Nursing Practice II): Maternal care before, during, and after birth, plus human growth and development and care of well and at-risk children and adolescents.
- NP3 (Nursing Practice III): Perioperative care, oxygenation, fluid–electrolyte and acid–base balance, infectious, inflammatory, and immunologic problems, and cellular aberrations.
- NP4 (Nursing Practice IV): Nutrition and gastrointestinal disorders, metabolic and endocrine disorders, and perception and coordination problems.
- NP5 (Nursing Practice V): Psychiatric and mental health nursing, plus critical care of acutely ill, multi-organ, high-acuity, and emergency clients.

What is a PNLE practice exam?

How should I use practice questions before the PNLE?
