PNLE NP1–NP5: What Each Nursing Practice Covers
TL;DR: NP1 to NP5 are the five PNLE subjects, Nursing Practice I to V. Each is a 100-item test whose scope is set by the PRC Board of Nursing's Enhanced Tables of Specifications (Resolution No. 10, s. 2025).

- NP1 (Nursing Practice I) — Care of Individuals, Families, Population Groups and Community (Community Health Nursing): Community health nursing: care of individuals, families, population groups, and the community using the nursing process.
- NP2 (Nursing Practice II) — Part 1 – Care of Mother, Adolescent (Well Clients), At Risk or With Problems (Acute & Chronic); Part 2 – Human Growth and Development: Maternal care before, during, and after birth, plus human growth and development and care of well and at-risk children and adolescents.
- NP3 (Nursing Practice III) — Care of Clients with Problems in Surgery, Oxygenation, Fluid and Electrolytes, Infectious, Inflammatory and Immunologic Response, Cellular Aberrations (Acute and Chronic): Perioperative care, oxygenation, fluid–electrolyte and acid–base balance, infectious, inflammatory, and immunologic problems, and cellular aberrations.
- NP4 (Nursing Practice IV) — Care of Client with Problems in Nutrition, and Gastro-Intestinal, Metabolism and Endocrine. Perception and Coordination (Acute and Chronic): Nutrition and gastrointestinal disorders, metabolic and endocrine disorders, and perception and coordination problems.
- NP5 (Nursing Practice V) — Care of Clients with Maladaptive Patterns of Behavior (Acute and Chronic); Care of Clients with Life-Threatening Condition, Acutely Ill/Multi-Organ Problems, High Acuity and Emergency Situation: Psychiatric and mental health nursing, plus critical care of acutely ill, multi-organ, high-acuity, and emergency clients.
